okay. i'm going to try and explain the mess that's going on in my head and if it makes no sense at all, well. I'M SORRY. such a problem child, this one.
this is faizel shafiq, all fancy and pureblood and sacred 28 and everything. i don't know about the rest of the shafiq family, but his particular branch decided that they were going to be all smug and proud of themselves for being pureblooded and aligned themselves with the dark side the death eaters et al. so faiz grew up in that environment, was decidedly molded by it, and in the last years has decided to entirely eschew that upbringing.
details are as follows: he's 30. he was a ravenclaw at hogwarts. he spent some time after school training to be a codebreaker for the ministry but went awol before he could complete his training. he's especially adept at spells that cause a lot of damage and/or big booms (dps, anyone?) and at anything involving intel gathering.
he was never officially a death eater, but he did spend a lot of time within that particular corner of society. he did a lot of fringe work, existing in the shadows, but eventually the horror of it all got to him and he peaced out in some big puff of smoke or something. the details on this particular event are still fuzzy (so if anyone wants to be involved, yes please) but it was big and showy and obnoxious and possibly injured a death eater or three.
he's since gone underground and has (i think) been traveling through the uk and europe and possibly even america building a network of wizards and witches who oppose the current situation. he goes places, causes problems, starts the basis for a resisting force, then heads out again. he pops up in london from time to cause problems and for the food.
he's not yet a member of the order and has no affiliation with them, but i'm thinking that whatever band of ne're-do-wells he collects will at some point in the future become part of the order.
he is the crabbe&goyle to ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) carwen's draco, regul is his informant, and evelynt gave him detention at some point in the past. probably more than once.
if anyone is looking to rebel, he's your man.
