Who: Roger and Meaghan Where: Dobler's pub When: Wednesday night What: Roger is escaping his personal issues and having some fun
Perhaps this wasn't the most mature way to deal with the problem, but Roger didn't feel like dwelling on the imminent life change fate was thrusting at him. It wasn't that he hated kids or never wanted a family, he just wasn't prepared for it to be so soon. He'd only recently recovered from the injuries sustained in the war and gotten back on a professional Quidditch team. He wanted to enjoy life after nearly losing it, to party and have fun with nothing tying him back.
While he was prepared to give Marietta monetary support and assist her through the pregnancy, he wasn't emotionally ready to commit as a father - nor had the reality really impacted on his mind. Not to mention, he couldn't help disliking how emotional she'd been and how dour she was acting lately. Where was the fun girl he liked spending time with? He didn't want to be with someone who was miserable and griping about being 'fat'. Anyway, she hadn't asked for his company so he had no idea if she wanted him around or not.
So it was hardly surprising he'd chosen spending his evenings partying as a way to forget reality and therefore was seated at the bar in Dobler's, a beer in hand and chatting with the barman while keeping an eye out for anyone he knew.
