"Thank you for being here for me," Elsa said to the large creature in front of her. He'd always been such a loyal protector, but he was beginning to seem like family. "But I think it's time that I deal with this on my own. I'll see you soon, okay?" She felt a potent guilt every time she sent him away, but she couldn't move on from what had happened with him there. She liked to think he understood.
With a light touch to the head, he was gone, nothing more than ice and snow in the wind around her castle. It was odd that that aspect of her power worked so well, when her ability to thaw was practically non-existent. It was no matter, really - she wouldn't have been able to thaw anything right now, anyway. Not when she felt like this.
She didn't think that Loki was right about this not being her fault, but he was right about one thing: She couldn't continue to isolate herself, and to dwell. She had Anna to think about, and Babydoll. She promised them both she'do what she could to get them home, and keeping herself cooped up in her castle would do nothing to help her fulfill that promise. Besides that, she didn't want Anna to waste her time being concerned for Elsa's well-being. She wouldn't do that to her.
Today would be the day she left her little corner of town. Not for long, and she wouldn't likely make it into the square, but it was something. She had to get used to being out an about again. Drowning in her own sorrow was selfish and useless; she needed to remind herself she wasn't the only one in the world.
Taking a deep breath, she took the first step off of the snowy bank that surrounded her castle, refusing to focus on the ice that grew beneath her feet. She'd worry about it later. She needed to get out of this bubble before she lost her nerve.
