The place was very suiting, cozy almost, if there wasn't an undertone possibility of impending doom. Sometimes Rick wondered what things would be like if they were just left to live out the rest of their lives in peace.
Then horrible things always happened.
He wouldn't lose hope. Hershel had taught him not to, and the strength and compassion in which is friends and people he called family constantly showed him gave him the strength to be strong for them. Whatever they needed him to be, he'd be it, whatever they needed him to do, Rick would do it.
"And, as requested by Daryl, it's nowhere by the lake." He'd teased his friend but knew there were legitimate concerns behind it. A light jab here and there kept things less tense. They had enough energy being put into more stressful things, no need not to loosen up around one another in the little moments they could steal.
Which was why it didn't bother him in the least that Michonne and Carl took that thought and made their own time. It was how it should be. A warm smile pulled to his lips as he stood back up, brushing the dirt off on his jeans. "I think us boys'll be living under the concept of ladies first. Never you mind."
