Well my goodness gracious let me tell you the news
WHO: Michonne & Rick
WHERE: The housing area
WHEN: Tuesday morning
WHAT: Looking for new digs for the gang and doing the bonding thing
WARNINGS: Dunno; after the last time, man, idek
The sudden departure of Glenn and Beth had knocked the entire group a little off axis. They'd all lost people before, but never like this. It tended to be much more blood and definite when they lost one of theirs. This just felt hollow and uncertain, since there was no definitive answer one way or the other as to what happened to them.
In lieu of wondering about things, having spent too long going over the possibilities in their own heads, it was a time for doing something. Michonne wasn't sure when Rick had come to believe that the hotel was not the way forward, if it was before or after Glenn and Beth's disappearance, but she had to admit it was forward thinking. The hotel was in no way defensible in the small group sense. The building itself seemed to thwart a lot of attacks purely based on the Darkness and the fiends from then not stepping foot on the land there.
The housing complex however was different. There were apartment buildings, small blocks and a few rows of houses. Things that, not too long ago, would've been classed as normal. But for them, it was unusual to see such a place just waiting for inhabitants, safe and relatively untouched by the ravages of scavengers. For all that Marrowood was turning out to be a similarly treacherous place as their own world, there was proving to be a few perks to the place.
Locating a house that suited the four of them, a place that they could defend but work with as a living space, was proving less of a challenging task and more of an indecisive one. "The garden is too open." Although it was nice and big, definitely a space you could grow your own vegetables in, nice and open, it was too open. Too prone to easily downed defences.
"I still like the first one." This was number three. And while it had a lower entrance and ground floor bedroom for ease with Hershel, the garden was just not viable in Michonne's mind.
