Where: Harbor road, Westwood
When: 10:20pm, Saturday
What: Crash and burn
Recently, Kylie had been working double time at Adams Enterprises. Since her father had threatened to take the Barrison deal from her, Kylie had done everything in her power not to let James down. Not only had she closed the account and gotten results better than they'd anticipated, she was given more responsibility in the next project she'd been assigned. It wasn't design, but that didn't mean she wasn't good at it. It just meant she didn't love it as much.
Still, it was what she would do to please her family, and even better, spare Bailey. Since taking a more active role, she'd noticed her father hadn't been quite as hard on her little sister. To Kylie, that made every exhausting hour spent working worth it. Bailey had enough on her mind, she deserved a little freedom from the future. Perhaps having just one of his progeny join him at the company was enough.
Kylie had Sundays off, so she was excited to return home and relax for the evening and following day. When she finally drove home from the office in Boston, it was past nine o'clock. She exited the bridge, glad to be home. After driving through neutral territory, she was in Westwood, and ventured deeper, where it was still crowded with forest. Had she been less distracted, she may have been able to watch for wildlife. As it was, she reached down for her water bottle just as two deer sprung in front of her car. She looked up, then reacted immediately. She yanked hard on the steering wheel in hopes of avoiding the deer, and spun out. She lost control of her car, and tried to right it as quickly as she could, but wasn't fast enough. Before she could even register what was happening, she crashed, her car flipping and twisting in and around the trees.
Before blackness enveloped her, one thought clung to life. "So much for a relaxing weekend."
