Hestia Jones can charm the pants off of you. ([info]hastyhestia) wrote in [info]wished,

Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:!1998: 02, !complete, fred weasley, george weasley, hestia jones, roger davies

Who: Hestia Jones, Fred Weasley, Roger Davies and George Weasley
What: Forgotten birthday drinks and fun
When: Following this entry, Friday evening
Where: WWW
Rating/Warning: Who knows, man. PG13?

This probably wasn't the best of ideas, Hestia reasoned. However, as she tied the strings of her cloak around her neck and readied herself to Apparate, she realized that she didn't have much to lose. If there was ever a way to cure the slight mood that Hestia found herself in, a friendly drink at the twins' shop would be enough to do so. Perhaps it helped that there might have been a rather attractive and friendly bloke there as well.

He was partially why such a trip wasn't a good idea. A small pop! sounded in the dark streets as Hestia appeared just on the edge of the block near the WWW. It wasn't nearly as cold as it ought to be as she headed toward the shop. She noticed that most of the lights on the streets were out save for the WWW and the figures she could see from the windows were familiar to her as she sped up her gait.

Moments later, she pushed open the front door and smiled as the bell rang upon her entrance.

"Anybody home?"

George was currently climbed up onto one of the top shelves, perching on a ladder while he restocked. Which ought to be Roger's job, as he'd informed him, but still he'd just done it himself. Much as George loved ordering Roger around and giving him a hard time, he and Fred both tended to take care of most things themselves, half the time. They'd built the shop up on their own, and had a hard time letting go of things, no matter how they whinged about them.

"Oi - Hes!" he greeted, waving from atop the ladder. George hadn't had a drink yet. And still half planned to not drink after his last bout of drunkenness had ended up with him snogging a father-to-be.

He climbed down carefully, walking over to perch on the counter next to Roger, pointing at the door. "Lock up, Shopboy!"

So maybe he could delegate some things.

Giving Hestia a quick glance over from head to toe, he poured her the drink with a grin. "Here's hoping I can learn how to deal with them without a drink in me then." Roger just complained about the work load for the sake of complaining and annoying George. It really wasn't much work, considering, but he wasn't used to it either.

Shoving George slightly when he hopped up onto the counter, he put the bottle of firewhiskey down next to him. "One day, when I'm famous, you're going to regret all the slavery-like conditions you've been subjecting me to," he promised, pointing at George as he walked backward toward the door to lock it. Flipping the lock and throwing up the wards, he asked, "So how old is the birthday girl? Or am I not suppose to ask?"

She offered George a friendly grin as she picked up the glass poured for her. It had been a long day and even still, she felt her nerves fading slightly the longer she stood in the shop. She usually found it impossible to be angry when around Fred or George, there was just something about them that deemed every moment a bit better.

"'lo George," she said before taking a sip of her drink. "I do hope everything is going well here."

She let the alcohol hit the back of her throat and a small shiver shot through her spin. Before taking another, she leaned herself against the counter and looked toward Roger.

"I'd ask you to guess but I'm afraid I won't like your answer," she told him, laughing softly. "So I'm afraid I'd rather remain an enigma."

"Then an enigma you shall remain. A beautiful one, while we're at it," he said, pouring himself a drink and then George one as well. He topped hers off, before raising his glass in a toast. "A toast to the birthday girl. May she live long and prosper." Then he was downing his drink to cover the fact that he ripped that line from the Vulcans.

It's not as if wizards would have a clue though.

Bumping George in an effort to make room for him to sit down, he asked, "So how come a pretty woman like you isn't out celebrating?" He would have thought there would have been a line of wizards knocking down her door.

Had there been a line of wizards, Hestia hadn't seen them. Instead, she'd seen the empty claws of her owl as not one of her family members remember her birthday this year. Not a one. She'd always joked as she grew older that she'd like it if they scored the date from their calendars, but she hadn't thought they would actually do it. She shrugged her shoulders, her ace scrunched slightly after taking another drink. Merlin, firewhiskey could burn.

"When one forgets their birthday, they don't exactly have time to throw a party," she told him, smiling in spite of herself. "And I'm not much for celebrating these sorts of things."

No one should have to be alone for their birthday. But fortunately for Hestia, she had two dashing young men to keep her company. If she got lucky, they would get Roger drunk enough to take off his pants and do a little dance for them. He wasn't a lightweight, but his tolerance wasn't all that high either.

"That's alright. Lucky for us though, seeing as that means we get to have you all for ourselves. Right George?" Roger said, elbowing the red head in the side gently with a smile. Anyway, private parties were the best kind of parties.
