Pausing in the act of spooning some mushy peas onto the lightly fried cod, Penny replaced the fork lightly onto her plate before leaning back against the cushion.
"No. We can talk about Monday. I mean, I don't mind if you don't."
She reached for the cup in order to give her hands something to do, scalding her tongue as she took a deep sip to cover her nerves.
"I mean. Looking at it rationally, it was a kiss and kisses don't change the world. Not unless you've fallen into a very bad romance novel."
Nerves theatened to thicken her voice, but there was a determination to get this over and done with. She liked Orsino and - whilst she certainly had liked kissing him - she wasn't going to let it get in the way of their friendship. Especially as part of her suspected that he was going to ask her to brush the entire incident aside.
Smiling now, she added "I don't regret it. Any of it. It was.. lovely." After casting around in her mind for the right word, she settled the cup back on the table and began to resume her meal before tilting her head and arching an eyebrow "Do you regret it?"
