"Hey you," Penny echoed in greeting as she smiled at him and lengthened her stride to keep up with him.
The chip shop had a small cafe at the back and the buisness had been run by the same family for generations. Rumour had it that they guarded the batter recipe so fiercly that not even the sons knew it.
All Penny knew was that it smelled very good and she felt her stomach rumble gently in anticipation. "Oh you know me," Penny said lightly "I never leave home without it."
Moving closer to the door front - and closer to the smell of fish frying - Penny turned and tried to put the events of last night out of her mind. "Did you want to eat in or eat out?"
