But he was angry. Lucy found she couldn't blame him, really. A friendship was supposed to be built on honesty. Unfortunately, Lucy found that in the time they were in now, she wasn't sure how honest she could be with anyone. But she didn't want her friendship with Nikolas to be like that.
"I could have told you," she said, her voice quiet, if only due to the nervous feeling she had fluttering in her stomach. "I should have. I don't like to lie to people you know."
Even if it wasn't exactly a lie. It was more an exclusion of the truth.
