Who: Greg and Theo
Where: The Nott Estates
What: Greg goes to visit Theo.
When: Decemeber 19th, morning
Rating: R

It wasn't really Theo Greg was worried about.  He knew his dad expected him to make an excellent impression on the senior Nott gentleman if he should see him. So as he pulled out clothes to take, half of them went back on the floor as Greg groaned, catching sight of a stain on this shirt, or a hole in this one.  He was flustered; he wanted to just be there, and here he was, acting like a fucking girl selecting clothes for a date.

This is not a date, he thought to himself.  He wasn't sure if they go flying.  He wasn't sure what they'd be doing together, but he hoped for something.  And it didn't require any clothes.  Greg was sure it wasn't going to happen.  Hell, he still wasn't sure what happened, exactly.  The train ride had been a hang over blurr, lounging in a compartment with Draco and Pansy and Blaise while he fought to keep himself from hurling at the throb in his head.  He'd kept looking for Theo, and just looking at him and it hadn't seemed real.  Even on the train, Greg had wanted to corner him, and demand a re-play, a kiss to see if the dream had really been a reality.  But he'd felt this hesitation;  he didn't really want to ruin the vision in his head if it was a dream. And then what did that make him?  A gay boy?  Lusting after his friend?  He'd felt confused and slightly miserable, and once he'd arrived home, his brothers had immediately distracted him.

Apparently, everyone in the family approved of his recent weight loss and change.  His brothers, each home from a successful mission, had invited him to fly, and then dragged him off to a pub.  Greg had never been included in such an obvious way, and he'd accepted it.  But they'd gone, off to their next assignment, and that had given Greg far too much time to ponder, and remember.

And remember.

With a satchell stuffed with some clothes, toothbrush, and a hair brush, Greg slung on his traveling cloak, and moved to ready himself, to step into the Floo.  He paused, looking about the house, and realized that he really should have gotten Theo a gift of some sort.  Greg nipped into the study, and found a unopened bottle of Fire-Whiskey, which he stuffed into his bag. He had plenty of galleons, thrust upon him by his brothers, so if they went somewhere, Greg was confident that he could pay.  He checked his reflection in a mirror on the wall, and moved to the Floo, chucking a handful of green powder into the grate.

"Nott Estates."

With a green flame bursting, Greg stepped in and after a moment of moving and spinning, stepped out into a large foyer.   A House-elf appeared almost immediately and Greg handed him the small bag.

"Tell Mr. Theo Nott I'm here," he said.

Greg turned to give Theo an inquiring look, "Really? Well, okay then," he said, his mood improving, "I'd like that loads, Theo. No one ever comes with me at school, and let's face it, I'd outrun Vincent at this rate," and he shook his head, "I can't outfly Draco, but I bet I could outrun him as well."

They were moving inside, and Greg pulled off his clock and glanced about for a House-elf to toss it to, "I don't have an exploding deck. The last one blew up completely and I've not been to the Alley to replace it. Thought about owling for it, but I'd rather take a trip to go pick it up. More fun, you know, roaming about the Alley, even with these tense times afoot. Kind of gives one a thrill of being on the edge," he added, stopping short as he waited for Theo to direct them.

"You got your own rooms we can take tea in?"

"You're the guest, I'm more than happy to accomodate your wishes wherever I am able." he said in more etiquette, politics speak.

He didn't even have to snap his fingers when a House Elf appeared to silently take Greg's cloak, disappearing with it, presumably to hang it up somewhere. Theo took note of what Greg said, filing it away for later when he was allowed to be normal again.

"There are rooms yes, the House Elf will lead us there." He knew where they were of course, but he had been told never to lead, always to stay alongside his guests (although he often hung back a step or two, forgetting himself and thinking of his father).

Greg's face took on a look of some puzzled surprise, "You'll accommodate my wishes? Well, what if I need a hot bath? Or a massage?" he asked, teasing, but thinking a hot bath actually sounded lovely at the moment, "We've got a tub at home that is huge; it can fit like five people. It's brilliant, to sit in there and talk and drink. My brothers and I did it the other night, and it was fun," Greg said, not self conscious at all. Bathing with other men, showering and what not, was a standard in school. Ideals of male modesty were hardly something he worried about. His chat with Theo in their rooms proved that.

"Good. I've got the cards in my bag if we can go fetch them?"

"If you want a bath you can take one." Theo replied, keeping the conversation very G-rated. "I know some spells for a massage, although I'm afraid I can't offer the real thing." He cetainly wouldn't have been allowed to do it himself, not and keep his hands as well.

"I can send a House Elf to fetch your bag for you, if you'd like." Theo advised, although one popped out of nowhere the minute he'd said the words 'house elf'.

"Do that, would you? I've got the cards in there," he said as he turned to see the creature appear, "Say, those are pretty quick. Ours takes forever to show up," Greg added as he let Theo tell it what he wanted.

"A bath does sound very nice right now," Greg said, with a bit of longing in his tone, "And you'll stay in there with me? Keep me company? I mean, it would be bloody stupid of me to come only to go off by myself right?"

Theo turned and nodded his head at the Elf who winked out in a matter of seconds, reappearing with Greg's bag a few minutes later. "Yeah, my dad trained them." Theo said.

He shrugged. "I'll stay with you if you like. It's only really big enough for one person but I can sit outside."

Greg nodded at Theo's words, even as he squatted down and began searching for his cards. He found the pack, and held them up and then out to Theo to hold.

"Okay, squared away now. This can go back to where ever," he said waving at his bag and he turned his attention to his friend, "Hot bath? Hot drink at well? And maybe we can talk about something? You reading any more books these days? Like the one at school? About the dog?"

Theo took hold of the cards and then snapped his fingers once Greg confirmed he was done with the bag, pointing to it; a house elf appeared and removed the bag as soon as the actions were carried out.

"I can certainly arrange that." Theo nodded, and then looked down at the mention of school. "No. Just books on magical theory." He would have preferred books about rabbits being burned alive; they were less disturbing than the things his father had him read.

Greg watched as his bag disappeared, ready to follow Theo to a bath, and he shrugged, "Magical theory is not the most interesting thing. Got any books on the history stuff? That can be a right laugh at times," Greg said, as Theo looked away from him.

"I still think we should get you over to my house. You know, my dad could send the proper invitation and all that if you like," Greg mentioned, a hopeful tone there in his voice, even as he glanced about again at the chilly interior of the Nott house. It was like a seeping cold, but not from the furniture or the temperature. It just seemed so utterly dreary; Greg's house had its own gloom, with peeling wallpaper in some of the more remote rooms but it was a place one could do what one pleased, and that seemed to give life to it. Here, all the life seemed to suck out of a person. And that made Greg feel strangely protective towards Theo, even if no emotions seemed to be returned.

"I know the history." Theo said, his tone hard to decipher. "And none of it is a laugh." Theo led Greg to one of the upper floors and on into a room that appeared to be the first stop before the promised bath. Theo toed his shoes off like they were simply slippers and shrugged his coat off, leaving him in the rest of his suit; shirt, tie, trousers, socks, uncomfortable and restrained, somehow looking even more so the more he undressed.

"My father won't allow it." Theo said, his voice trying to be hard but sounding echoeyand hollow, almost defeated, almost... lost. "You can change here, the bath's in the next room. If Theo had known Greg's feelings towards him at that moment he would have, well, vehemently denied needing any protection at all... the truth of it was that in this house, where he should have been at his most defended, he was most vulnerable of all.

Greg followed and shrugged, not quite sure how to interpret Theo's comments, "Whatcha mean? It's bloody entertaining, it can be," he said, his tone turning a tad sour as he grumbled slightly, "I don't much take it that seriously. Besides, we are different. It's not like we are gonna repeat it all again. That would be bloody stupid," he added as he followed behind Theo.

He paused, "You sure? He won't let you come, at all?" and Greg frowned, turning to move into the room to get out of his things. He left the door ajar, so that he could speak, but he found himself getting sour. Why the hell wouldn't his father let him come, Greg wondered to himself even as he removed all of his clothes, and pushed through into the next room. He climbed into a hot tub of water, and slid down into it with a sigh. He let himself slip down until only his head stuck out and he frowned and then raised his chin to shout out, "Oi, you comin' Theo?"

Theo hated history, and not just because he'd been force-fed it since infancy. He hated looking into the past and feeling the weight of generations of Nott family members pushing down on him; Theo preferred to look to the future, and even that only half the time. The present was a little more than he could handle at the best of times.

"I'm sure." Theo noted quietly, only speaking because Greg had turned and wouldn't have seen the nod of his head. He stood outside the bathroom until Greg called out to him, at which he entered and took a seat on a large uncomfortable looking chair, curled up like a particularly angular cat, or some kind of silent raven. "Is it to your liking?" he asked, indicating the bathwater with a nod.
