"Of course." He had no confidence that it would do any good, but it did no harm to give what reassurances he could. As he stood again, he wondered why he bothered at all - the same reason he'd done so the first time, he supposed. No matter their allegiances, the people who hadn't been horrible to him for decades merited some politeness. Dumbledore would have offered a different explanation, no doubt. - But look at what that had gotten him.
