Megan was definitely embarrassed. She generally didn't cry in front of people as a rule. And doing so made her feel quite silly. She was clearly acting stupid, but there was an overload of emotions simultaneously floating around and being confronted about her actions lately wasn't helping. She felt bad for ignoring her friends and...well... she simply didn't want to lie. She was terrible at it and it wasn't fair that she was being asked to.
Taking the handkerchief from him she forced a chuckled, "Thanks." But didn't seem to use it instead choosing to fiddle with it in her hands. After she'd made use of her sleeve there wasn't much tears to follow just some sniffles. "I'm fine, really. And I appreciate you wanting to help. But... it's complicated. And Chris is having a really hard time with everything and..." She paused a beat to chuckle again. She gently nudged him with her elbow as if trying to convince him through touch. "It's nothing you said. You just caught me at a peek in emotions is all. I usually wouldn't cry about something like this. You know that."
