Wayne sat with his guitar by the door to the girls' dormitory. He knew it would look slightly creepy, but he didn't care.

Megan had been off in her own world ever since the first Decree came down, and the word of her parents' separation came through. She'd been sitting across the room during classes. She'd been eating at other tables for meals. The only time he saw her or talked to her was during Quidditch practice, and the talking then mostly consisted of team chatter. It was strange, and slightly off-putting.

He would sit and wait. She would have to come back eventually. And when Megan did finally return, he would be there.

Megan hadn't meant to be off putting. Okay, well she did actually. After being informed of the 'separation' plan from her father it seemed there had to be some sort of attempt to make the lies look true. Alright, so they weren't really lies. Her parents were separated and the entire thing was a bit of a taxing emotional fact. But... considering it was really all for show Megan didn't know how to exactly go about pretending it was serious. So, as was suggested by her elder brother, Nathaniel, she went out of her way to avoid people the last few days.

And to be honest she was...growing a bit bored with sulking. The fact that she was mock sulking didn't help either and eventually...she convinced herself to sulk for real. For no particular reason at all! Least none she could find.

She'd spent most of her meals lately with her kid brother, Christopher, at the Ravenclaw table since the boy seemed to be having some trouble with the situation. The fourth year had managed to convince himself that their parents were using the war as an excuse and they really were getting a divorce. It was weird how well the boy could lie to himself, really. In fact they had to have a brother-sister conversation in one of the empty classrooms across from the Great Hall half way through dinner. After some argument, tears, and an uncharacteristic hug between them...Megan was finally free to return to her room.

To be honest she just wanted to sleep. She just wanted to lie down...she just... "What are you doing?" she asked curiously with a slight grin as she approached the girls dorm and noticed Wayne sitting where he was. Though 'creepy' wasn't the word that came to mind - it was weird and her contorted face seemed to exude the feeling.

	Wayne stopped in the midst of "Norwegian Wood" and looked up at Megan. She seemed... off. Tense. And above all, sad. It was the sadness that was worrying Wayne the most. "Waiting for you," he finally said. "I was thinking we could talk, if you were up to it." He wanted to add so much more, but he held back. It was for Megan to volunteer information... If she wanted to, that was. (Reply to this)

Megan's brow pinched a little and she gave him a suspicious look. "What do you want to talk about?" she asked. "Are you alright?" Her face fell from suspicious to sudden concern. "What happened?"

For whatever reason Megan had interpreted Wayne's waiting around for her as some sort of sign that he needed help. An open ear and shoulder to lean on - or whatever other cheesy sayings came with that. And despite the fact that she'd just had a tediously emotional conversation with her fourteen year old brother... she didn't have any qualms about listening if Wayne needed her to listen.

"Hang on, hang on..." Wayne got up from his seat and nodded towards the far corner of the room, where two couches sat facing each other. "Let's go over there, yeah? It's a bit more private."

He led Megan through the maze of furniture to the far corner and sat down on one of the sofas, setting his guitar to lean against the sofa's arm. Looking to either side to make sure there were no eavesdroppers, he finally addressed Megan again.

"Right... So what's been bothering me is you." He stopped himself for a moment, afraid hat his words had come out harsher than he'd meant. "I mean, what's been going on with you the last few days? I mean I understand you going off to eat with Chris, but... You've been avoiding me. And everyone else."

	Wayne shot Megan a look of mock astonishment. "Why, Miss Jones, you naughty young lady..." He smirked. "How dare you even think I wasn't in for it." He looked around the room. 	Megan's smile had broadened and she patted Wayne's knee when he accepted. She could always rely on him to do the right thing, yes? Yes! "You find an escape route... I'll go get the goods." 	Wayne looked wide-eyed at Megan, as if he'd just been caught sneaking a biscuit. He grinned. "I can't tell you that," he said. "Your hand doesn't want to tell me. It's being very secretive all of a sudden." Never mind that his heart was now suddenly pounding in his chest. He held out his own hand to her. "Come on, then. You try it." (Reply to this) (Parent)
