Although the idea wasn't immediately appealing to him, Nikolas had to admit it had much more wisdom to it than what he'd been considering - it involved him stumbling down the steps of the Astronomy Tower into the corridor and attempting to blend in with a group of students returning from dinner. Where it was likely he'd immediately stand out anyway. Stay there for a bit? Sure, why not. Though he didn't particularly mind the occasional detention, Nikolas didn't exactly go out looking for them.
"Yeah, I suppose we could. Either of us would have to be daft to try apparating right now." He'd never splinched before, but he imagined it was not very pleasant and intended not to find out what it was like. Still, he knew that if he sat here much longer just talking idly, he was likely to fall asleep, and he definitely didn't want to wake up in the morning hung over and freezing and atop the tower, surrounded by empty bottles of alcohol. Oh, and of course, a class of first years would walk in just as he was attempting to straighten himself out and make it to safety.
Nikolas thought, and he had to think hard, because it was not easy going anymore. He'd had some playing cards with him, hadn't he? "Hey, do you ever play card games?"
