Who: Vicky Frobisher and Demelza Robins
When: about 10 minutes after this
Where: Hospital Wing
What: Vicky's visiting Dem in the Hospital Wing! And trying to entertain her.
Rating: Totally G, I'm sure.
Open/Closed: Closed.

Vicky kept trying to reassure herself that Dem had said she was fine, but there was a part of her that just wouldn't believe it until she saw her for herself. It was probably a case of her overreacting, but Demelza was one of her best friends and that meant she had kind of freaked out at the thought of her being attacked by the stupid Whomping Willow.

She grabbed a few supplies, not sure what Dem would be in the mood to do. Some sweets were tucked into a bag as well as everything they'd need for a game of exploding snap or gobstones. It wasn't the same as being able to go flying, but she hoped maybe it would at least help get her mind off of not being able to do that.

"Hey!" she greeted, forcing her usual brightness into her tone, trying in vain to mask the little bit of worry that flashed in her eyes as she approached Demelza. "How are you feeling?" She looked.. better than Vicky had expected, but she was still worried.

Demelza had expected that someone would come up to see her, but it didn't lessen her excitement to see Vicky, who was the first person to come. "Well, I knew you would, but that doesn't mean I can't be happy to see you, now does it? Especially when you're saving me from homework!"

"I'm glad to hear I didn't miss anything exciting then." Dem grinned, before settling a bit. "Shame about the tempers though. I wonder if it's contagious, because I think I was getting a bit grouchy before I got brought up here." She hoped Vicky wasn't getting it too much.

"Gobstones and Exploding Snap! That's brilliant!" She paused for a moment. "I'm not sure how we'd play Gobstones if I'm not allowed off the bed though, and I'm not sure what Madam Pomfrey thinks about Exploding Snap. Or we could just ignore what she says and play anyway?" A healthy disrespect for the rules was perfectly normal, wasn't it?

Vicky grinned at her, glad to see that Dem seemed to be in good spirits. She was still really irritated that she was in here because of that stupid tree, but right now she was trying to focus on keeping her friend entertained while she was stuck here in the hospital wing.

"I don't know." Vicky shrugged. "I feel fine." She didn't know why everyone else seemed to be in such a foul mood, but aside from the occasion completely justified irritation over this thing or that, she was perfectly fine.

She made a face as her friend pointed out the potential flaws in her plan of Gobstones or Exploding Snap. She had a good point about the Gobstones, anyway. "Eh, what's she going to do? Kick you out?" She flashed her friend a grin. "Exploding Snap, it is, I think!"

Demelza smiled to hear that Vicky wasn't in a bad mood. There were enough of those to go around. "That's good!"

Demelza grinned slightly mischeviously. "Good, I like Exploding Snap better anyway." There was no way Madam Pomfrey would kick her out. She took her wand off the nearby table and moved the table with a Locomotor, so that it was in approximately the right place, and turned so that she was facing it. "You deal!"

"Me, too!" Vicky grinned, glad that her friend agreed and she nodded her head as she pulled out the deck and set to dealing the cards out. There were things they would both rather be doing, she was sure, like going outside, but she couldn't just let Dem alone up here to be all bored. Exploding Snap seemed like a good alternative.

Exploding Snap was a lot of fun, anyway. Hopefully Pomfrey wouldn't raise too much of a fuss over it. She knew the game could be loud, but they had to do something to pass the time.

Watching Vicky deal out the cards, Demelza announced, "but you have to go easy on me, I'm injured." She said it with a mocking tone of voice, but really, if they didn't, Dem would get caught up in it, and end up competitively reinjuring herself. Not that she would care, but if Madam Pomfrey figured it out, she might not let Vicky back in, and that would be a special kind of torture.

She moved her cards into a neat pile, straightening them as Vicky dealt. She had a feeling it would be over at the first explosion, but it was going to be fun. She was happy.
