Once again Ron found himself striding out in front of them - rather more effectively this time, seeing as he had his own legs back - his hands stuffed into his pockets and his head ducked to avoid the low rafters that shored up the roof of the darkened tunnel. He had been a little too hopeful, probably, when Hermione had suggested a solution - because if she couldn't find the answer, after all, who was going to? - and now the disappointment had just increased the sick feeling of dread that seemed to sit in his stomach constantly these days.
Inevitably, he hit his head on a low-hanging beam in a moment of distraction, and let out a vicious curse. He stopped to clap his hand to his forehead until the pain dulled a little, fuming. "Brilliant plan," he growled, rubbing at his temple. "Definitely worth risking that bloody tree, and whatever the hell's crawling around in here. Absolutely fantastic." He consoled himself somewhat by indulging in inhumane thoughts about that miserable cat of hers getting launched off into the night by an angry, errant tree branch.
