WHO Eddie Carmichael & Merlin Toke
WHAT Eddie ~~waltzes in~~ comes home and Merlin has a migraine.
WHERE Their flat, at about 3am.

Despite the snow and the cold at this late hour of three in the morning, Eddie strolled into his flat wearing a thin black muscle shirt, his favorite pair of comfortable-yet-classy jeans and a pair of dress shoes. It was somewhat of a habit for him to come home in this manner, especially during winter when many people from his job and social circle threw Christmas parties. He was still a little buzzed and felt great; his work Christmas party was always a blast with lots of drinks, dancing, food, and friends.

As Eddie was not the type to spend a night at home, he was - well, rarely home. But of course he always came back here to sleep, play with Cat, restock the fridge and so on and so forth. He rarely saw Merlin, to whom he had subletted the extra room in his flat, and sometimes wondered if he should find him and ask for input about groceries... but for Eddie, staying in was a little bit hard. Tomorrow morning, however, he had off from work and had no other responsibilities, and so for once he decided he would sleep in.

Merlin would have appreciated the sympathy had his vision not been too unfocused for him to see Eddie's expression at that moment. He kept his knees drawn up tight to his chest, as though that would help, recurled up on the couch and hold his head in his hands tight as though the pressure from the outside would balance out the medieval torture implement style squeezing on the inside.

It didn't.

He winched at the sound of Eddie going through the drawers, wishing not for the first time that his curse didn't make him so fucking sensitive to every thing, although just not making his head feel as delicate as an elderflower jelly souffle would be nice, and yes, he'd be looking into his use of metaphor too as soon as he could see.

He wanted to warn Eddie about the Days of Christmas present, but that little bit of information seemed to have bled out of his ears with both the rest of his senses and anything that could block pain.
