Characters: Trevor Scabior and NPC!Alicia Spinnet
Setting: Backdated: Friday Night in the town near Alicia's
Summary: Trevor makes good on his end of the deal with Amycus and gets the Carrows back their 'pet'
Rating: PG, just some stunning and snatching. Unless you are Alicia's friend and then it's rated OMFG?
Trevor stepped out the dim alley and lit a cigarette, looking around at the town’s Friday night crowd of muggles. He sucked in a lungful of smoke and turned left, heading down the sidewalk at a casual pace. He couldn’t believe this situation. He didn’t much care about what he was doing, he didn’t expect it to be very difficult and he did so often complain about how he didn’t get to do the field work like he used to when they were starting out. Snatching witches for a bunch of evil nutters, well, he supposed he couldn’t get much closer to his roots than that. The unbelievable part was that he was doing this to cover Gretchen’s arse, the dumb bint. He exhaled with a sigh, he had no idea what had possessed her to do something as idiotic as taunt an obvious psychopath.
A part of him would much rather kill both the Carrows and do away with the headaches he was sure would lay in the future, even if he did fetch their girl for them and get Gretchen off their radar for awhile. But he knew even if they were laying low and severed from so many of their past connections he wasn’t sure who’s ire he’d raising and he didn’t need those outdated politics messing with his business. No, the easiest solution was to strike a deal and move on. Trading some witch of no use to him for Gretchen was certainly the easiest choice.
A rundown through his contacts and some brief research turned up her address and a few helpful schedule notes. He was positive it would go down later, he’d find the house, watch it for a few hours til everyone was well asleep and he’d break in and take her. He’d done it many times before and, even if they had difficult wards, he didn’t anticipate too many issues. But until then he had time.
He stopped next to the grocery store, feeling suddenly thirsty and looked inside as he wondered if it was slow enough in there he could confound the cashier into missing the fact he had no money to pay for his drink. Through the sliding door he noticed a girl walking toward him and only took a moment to match the face to the pictures he’d looked over earlier.Sometimes being this lucky threw even him, he thought as he grinned viciously. He pulled out another cigarette and stepped away from the door, playing the part of innocent loiterer as he watched Alicia exit the store with her bags.
Even though he had directions and an address, Trevor wasn’t positive how far the woman’s home was exactly and followed after her at a discreet pace as he kept an eye out for a sign of her plan. She could either keep walking straight home and lead him there, a possibility that offered him many chances to grab her so long as no one was watching, or she’d slip off down one of the area’s alleys to Disapparate in peace. And while dark alleys were fantastic for providing the privacy needed to Disapparate in a muggle area they also provided the seclusion he was looking for.
He kept a careful distance, using the darkness and fellow pedestrians to make his cover. When she turned left, out of sight and in between a florists and tailors, Trevor realised which was this was going and sped up, pulling out his wand as he ducked into the alley after her. The element of surprise was on his side and fired off a stunning spell even as she was dropping her bags to grab her wand. He watched her crumple to the ground, glancing over his shoulder once to make sure no one was watching as he walked over to her. Bottles clattered across the ground, rolling out of the grocery bag; he waved his wand and transfigured the mess into a small pile of leaves for the wind to deal with.
Trevor looked down at Alicia, eyes running over her as he considered the young woman. He didn’t see what the big deal was, he thought as he nudged her roughly with his foot, at least nothing to become all obsessed over like Carrow was. But that of course didn’t matter. He waved his wand again and her limbs snapped to her side as she was bound and he placed a silencing spell for good measure. “Fucking dumb bitch,” he muttered to himself, thinking of Gretch as he stooped to pick up Spinnet from the ground. He would admit, for a few moments he did enjoy the simplicity of the task, getting to be out in the ‘field’ rather than sending one of his crew to do it. But all thrills had to end and he gripped his wand, spun on the spot and Apparated back to the office to finish his delivery.
