He didn't let her get too far away when she went to pull away though, sliding an arm around her and tucking her against his side and hugging back. That was... excellent progress, actually, and he couldn't help but be pleased, and his grin showed it, wide and charming and very sincere, if not for the reasons Rose might suspect.
"Hardly important, but very much expected. I've got to maintain the status quo, or risk my father deciding to haunt me for bringing shame on the family name," he said.
