Rose had the night off. She'd had most of the week off, actually, because of the sale at work and the extra hours and owls put in during it, and she'd been relaxing and baking and having a nice time lazing about, really. Then Caine had asked to spend some time with him, while she was off, and she'd jumped at the chance because, really, the last date had been perfect, and he was such a gentleman, but it had been so long ago that she'd started to worry he'd lose interest.

She hadn't quite known what to wear, but she'd opted for a long skirt and her new pair of boots with a thin jumper in light brown. She had no idea what he had planned for them, as she waited outside the Leaky Cauldron to meet him, but whatever it was, she knew she'd enjoy seeing him again.

For once, Caine wasn't there early. This time, he wanted Rose to wait for him, to feel a little anxious. To build up the anticipation a little. So he waited. Even though it drove him more then a little crazy, to make himself late, he waited. Five minutes, and then, another agonizingly long five minutes, before he apparated and then let himself rush around the corner to find her. He was dressed more casually then he usually did, a pair of jeans and a lightweight blue jumper that brought out the color of his eyes with startling clarity.

"Sorry I'm late. I was looking so forward to seeing you that I forgot to handle some things and they popped up at the last minute," he lied smoothly, smiling as his gaze roamed over her.

She had started to get nervous at five minutes, at ten she was wondering if she was being stood up - then he appeared like she'd dreamed him there (he looked so good) and he always knew just what to say to make her feel special.

"It's alright!" she said in a rush, smiling wide at him and reaching to push her hair back behind an ear. "I was looking forward to it too. How have you been?"

"Busy. You wouldn't think the life of an unemployed socialite would be busy, but you'd be terribly wrong. Matchmaking mamas wanting me to come to this debutante's event, or this party, or that ball. Charity events, etc. That and keeping a close eye on some investments." He smiled, as if he was well aware that such things were hardly the sort of troubles to interest the average person. "I imagine you've been doing much more interesting things anyways."

"Oh, it sounds ever so important..." She trailed off, obviously teasing, and then couldn't really stop herself from hugging him - it was fast and a little awkward, and she was blushing when she pulled away. But she'd missed him. Or, the idea of him, maybe. Still, it had been too long.

"Not really. I've been lazy, off work. Got some reading done and tried to avoid all owls after that sale. Matchmaking mamas? Should I worry?"

He didn't let her get too far away when she went to pull away though, sliding an arm around her and tucking her against his side and hugging back. That was... excellent progress, actually, and he couldn't help but be pleased, and his grin showed it, wide and charming and very sincere, if not for the reasons Rose might suspect.

"Hardly important, but very much expected. I've got to maintain the status quo, or risk my father deciding to haunt me for bringing shame on the family name," he said.

He gave a heavy, envious side. "Ah, a week to laze about and do whatever I wanted. Lucky girl." He tilted his head to the side, meeting her gaze. "Hmmm, I don't know. I don't think so. Not a one of their precious darlings hold my interest near so much as you do."

"Really?" Rose grinned at that, and she had no problem staying close to him. He was warm against her, and staying there against his side she could feel how strong he was, how solid. It was nice. And it also made her think of what his body must be like, and that had her blushing just a bit.

"So," She managed, trying to fight back the blush and giggles. "What's the plan for tonight?"

	"Well, I thought I'd let you show me how the Muggle movie thing works. I hear its supposed to be sort of entertaining and its evidently the thing to do for a date." 	Rose's eyes went a bit wide, she hadn't been expecting that, but she looked pleased, too, and nodded excitedly. "That sounds great!" She said happily, starting with him back through the Leaky toward the muggle side. "There's a new movie I've been wanting to watch, anyway. It's about Pirates. It's supposed to be really excellent." 	"Pirates? Really?" Caine seemed amused at the idea. "Well, pirates it is then. You'll have to guide me through the whole thing, I really have no idea what I'm doing on the Muggle side of things. 	"You took muggle studies?" She was surprised, though then she remembered he'd told her that before and felt bad for not thinking of it. "Well, until Professor Oakby took over I heard it was mostly rubbish anyway. And then it wasn't required. It's gotten a lot better now. But..." "It was considered part of a well rounded education. And it was that or Astronomy or Divination and those two would have bored the hell out of me." Not to mention some part of him had wanted to have the tactical advantage of knowing somewhat what he was dealinf with. Even if Muggles seemed to do everything the hard way. He squeezed her hand though and gave her a wide smile. "I managed to get some Muggle money exchanged, but other then that, I'm all odds and ends on the matter. I do know there is supposed to be popcorn and sugar involved though!"

"You don't have to pay every time we do something, though. I mean, you did get me that job! I can treat you to a movie..." Caine frowned a little bit. "Oh dear, you're not one of those terribly modern girls who wants to go half-way on things, are you? I'm afraid I'm quite old fashioned. A gentlemen should pay on the date, especially early on." He smiled a little to take any sting out of his insistence "If we were just hanging out, as friends, I could probably unbend, but really, I think this is a bit beyond just ordinary friendship, don't you?"

She was adorable in her naiveté, really, and in the end, it would make the victory all the sweeter, even if, at the moment, it required quite a lot of patience on his part. His smile widened and he lifted her hand up to his mouth, brushing his lips over her knuckles lightly. "Good. I'm glad we're on the same page. It doesn't sound sad at all, it sounds delightful."

For her part, she thought he was charming. She almost swayed toward him when he kissed her knuckles, and then blushed again and pulled away from him only enough to keep them walking. Because the idea of being in a dark theater with him was... well, it was really nice. She wondered if he'd kiss her, if he'd try to hold her hand.

"Do you want to hail a cab, or try the tube again?"

	"Well, I think, since we're being adventurous, we should take the tube. But I rather like the idea of not having to share you with a crowd, so I'm going to be selfish and hail a cab. Sound like a plan?" He tucked her back against his side as he headed around the corner to a more busy street where the chances of finding a cab would be much better. It didn't take them long to get a cab and Caine let Rose give the driver the directions, settling back against the seat. He usually hated cabs, they always smelled funny and the drivers insisted on trying to talk to him, but he really didn't relish the idea of crowding into the tube either. Apparating would of course been the best idea, but he was willing to indulge Rose a little if it got him in her good graces.

"So, just to make sure I have the list down, we'll need popcorn, soda, and what else?"
