Paddy let himself look around the pub a little bit more, just surveying the crowed, all the while still listening to Harold. He couldn't help it, it was just like second nature to him by now. Even off duty Padraig was the observant kind, he'd always been like that. Just because he didn't mention it, or say anything didn't mean that he wasn't paying attention. Besides, the guy Kaie was cheating right now didn't look too happy, so a few preventative measures and initial scouting never hurt anyone. "Of course she is, wouldn't want her skills to get rusty now would we?" he said as he lowered his voice, still with an amused smirk on his face.
He enjoyed bantering with the other woman. Frequently getting into arguments over whose job was better. Clearly it was his, after all, little kids strived to be where he is today. Plus, knowing that they only took a select number of people a year (if at all), well, that just made him proud to be where he was. He still was one to give credit where credit was due though. The Hit Wizards were a tough bunch and more than one occasion he caught himself thinking that he'd have trouble doing some of that on a daily basis (mainly in regards to some bowsies that regularly found their way into his office by mistake.). Which is why he frequently just let Kaie win the arguments.
"I think we should head over there." Padraig decided on as he put down the money on the counter for the first round. He grabbed his pint and took a drink from it before he spoke again. Man did that taste good. Honestly, there wasn't that many things in this world that felt as good after a long day as taking that first sip of the black stuff. "Besides, do you really want to pass up the chance to mess with her in front of the competition?" he said amused with a small nod over to the bloke she was playing against.
