Merlin knew he should have kept that particular insecurity to himself; this relationship thing was already difficult and it wasn't even fully realised yet. He didn't give himself much of a chance, not really.
"I suppose." he said. He'd always thought there had been a class, something the other kids had eaten, a spell, something that he'd missed out on that meant that he'd know these things the way other people he knew seemed to do. He'd always felt awkward, different because of the things he saw, different and left out and that he'd never had anything intimate with anyone just made him feel worse. He was a thirteen year old boy still trapped in a twenty year old's body. He didn't think he'd ever stop feeling scared.
