Oriel was always up with some friend time. He spent the morning in the Quibbler offices, doing some fact checking and research, and then the early part of the afternoon working on his latest article. When the clock started ticking close to the time he was supposed to meet Rose, though, he tucked everything away and tidied up his desk and got ready to go.

He slipped his arms into his thin fall coat and wrapped a skinny blue and purple striped scarf around his neck, letting it dangle. The glasses that he wore for reading he took off and folded away, tucking them into a pocket and then he was set to go.

It wasn't too much later that he was making his way towards Sugarush. Always a popular spot, with people coming and going with sweets. As he reached it, he could smell a wiff of sugar that wafted through the door when someone opened it, and he smiled. Stepping off to the side so he wasn't in the way, he waited for Rose to arrive.

Rose had to switch her days with the other girl who worked at Orion's so that she could get the afternoon off, but meeting with Oriel and talking about his date and shopping were far more important than having the day off. Maybe she should tell him about Caine, too? She hadn't really told many of her friends, but she wanted to.

Now she hummed as she hurried up the sidewalk toward Sugarush, jostling her purse on her shoulder and then spotting him almost as soon as she was there. "Oreo!" She squealed, grinning and coming up to touch him on the shoulder and get him to turn to see her.

Oriel's eyes were moving through the crowds of people who walked through the alleys, shopping and what not. He didn't see Rose coming, looking in the other direction as she did, but felt the touch on his shoulder and he turned, a smile lighting up his face and his bright blue eyes.

"Hi, Rosie," he said and he leaned in and gave her a hug before he pulled back so he could see her face.

"Where to first. In here?" He tilted his head towards the sweet shop. Because everyone needed candy!

	"Oh yes!" Rose said it as if she couldn't believe that anyone would choose to go anywhere else first, "Then maybe into the muggle side and we'll go shopping. Somewhere nice and funky? Oh, we should look at charity shops! What were you thinking?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"I was thinking thrift stores, for sure," Oriel agreed with a smile before he turned and opened the door to Sugarush, holding it for Rose so she could enter before he slipped through behind her.

"I could use a few more sweaters for winter," he said once they were both inside and he could see her face to read her lips once more. The smell of sugar surrounded them.

	"Sweaters for winter!" She waved her hands as if fending off the idea, but then sat down at the table with a wide smile, shaking her head. "We're getting you something to wear on a date, Oreo.
