Lunch Date
Who: Megan Jones, Viktor Krum
When: Saturday afternoon backdated
Where: Three Broomsticks
What: Viktor and Megan finally meet
Rating: TBD
Open/Closed: Closed

Viktor didn't want to admit he was a little nervous. It seemed silly to be nervous. He met women all the time, this wasn't something new. Perhaps what was throwing him was that he had been talking to Megan now for a couple of weeks so he kind of knew her without having actually met her.

The excitement of the kids helped dull his nerves since he needed to keep them in line as they walked down to the village. Soon the kids had moved off in bunches and he was left to find the pub. Thankfully with the village being so small he soon found himself in front of the pub. Entering he quickly found a booth and sat down. A server game but he wasn't sure it was polite to order until she got there. Instead he got some water to tie him over.

Megan shook her head. "No, no, not at all." she said trying to be reassuring that this wasn't just some stupid flaky thing. "Definitely not in this area. Get us into a triva battle though, all bets are off." she paused for a moment. "I wouldn't either, you'll probably be getting an owl soon asking about it, he'd do it face to face, but with you being up at the school and all..." she trailed off there for a moment.

She gave him a playful look. "I'm glad you think so. I spent all morning outside, so I hope so." she thought this over for a moment. "I'm thinking hard about their fish and chips, haven't had them in forever. Yourself?" she asked.

It seemed that Megan and her brother had a good relationship even with a bit of competitiveness." I vill make sure just to be an observer should a trivia battle occur." Nodding, Viktor realized there might be a point there. "If he vishes to meet me in person, I vill make myself available to him." He promised.

Glancing once more at the menu Viktor made his decision. " I tink I vill have dhe steak and kidney pie."

Megan giggled. "I'm sure he'll make sure it all works out." she said just hoping that Rhys didn't do anything too embarrassing. She loved him to death, but sometimes...anyway.

"Mmm, that'll be nice on a day like today." she said glancing out the window, after handing the menu back to the server. It wasn't too cold out, but there was still a little nip in the air.

Viktor nodded, it was probably pretty unlikely that Megan's brother would make too much trouble of things unless, he did something that warranted it. "I'm sure he will." He agreed as he handed back the menu.

"Yes, nice on a fall day. I can't help but vonder vhat might first vinter vill be like here in Scotland. Bulgaria has very harsh vinter but here it is different da?"

"I would suspect so." she said kindly thinking about it. "It's not totally horrible. A lot of snow, and the wind can chill you right down to the bone if its in the mood, but its nothing that sitting next to the fire place can't fix." she said thinking if she was forgetting anything. "But for the most part it's not bad, hopefully. It might even be pleasant compared to a Bulgarian winter?"

"Snow is pretty to look at and fly over, but after dhat I have little use for it." Viktor was glad to have his own fireplace in his quarters at least there he could stay warm albeit alone.

"Pity ve are not allowed visitors during the term but perhaps during the holidays you could come up and give me the students view tour?" He suggested.

Laughing at the comparison between at Scottish and Bulgarian winter, Viktor shook his head. "Bulgaria is very cold and my family's home is in dhe mountains. Perhaps less snow dhen here."

Megan kind of nodded in agreement. "I know what you mean, I kind of outgrew snowball fights and snowmen a while ago." she thought out load. "I've kind of make it an annual thing to fly over little towns after a really heavy snow around Christmas to see the lights reflect off of the snow. Maybe you could come with me this year." Megan just decided to throw that out there, what's the worst that could happen?

She thought about going back up to the school and reminded herself that it really was just her last year that was more than a little more than messed up. "I'd actually really enjoy that." she agreed.

"Well that's rather coincidental." she said with a small laugh. "My parents live about an hour away from the nearest mountain, you can see it off in the distance in the fall...on a clear night." she added scrunching up her face a little trying to imagine it. "Dad used to take us camping there." she added.

Viktor nodded. "I vould like dhat. You must know all dhe good places to see dhe lights during dhe holidays." He couldn't help but wonder how the English did Christmas.

Pleased that she had agreed to visit the castle during the holidays, Viktor smiled. "As vould I. I know it vill be hard to get to know each odder vhen I am mostly stuck at school. Very unusual situation."

Listening to her childhood memories made Viktor relax and he leaned back in the booth. "Dhat sound nice. Ve never did much camping but lots of skiing in dhe vinter."

She shrugged a little bit. "I know a few." she said thinking of several automatically, and how nice it might be to share it with someone this year.

"It is isn't it?" she agreed thinking. "It might not be so bad though." she said thinking of this positively. "At least when we do get the chance to see one another it'll be special?" she offered. "Besides, there's always owls and journals and stuff." she continued. "Not like you're totally shut off from the world." she gave him a small playful wink in a joking way.

"You ski?" she asked interested. "I've never learned, is it terribly hard?" she asked.

He nodded, this Megan was a romantic, but Viktor found that he liked that. At least she wasn't about to make demands on him that he couldn't hope to fulfill while he lived at the school. He was no longer the fancy free bachelor he used to be.

"You are very vise. Besides I tink sometimes it is better to take your time getting to know some vone radder dhan rushing."

Viktor smiled at her question. "Skiing isn't too hard, but it can be dangerous. You need a good and patient instructor to get you started."

Megan shook her head a little bit though she was still smiling. "No so much wise, annoyingly optimistic." she said half-kidding. "I think you're right though," she started. She was definitely one to go head first into things, but that didn't mean that she was about to rush into something like this. To her, going head first merely meant that she was going to give it her all and not play around. She wasn't the kind of girl that played games or any of that sort of stuff. "it's kind of nice to take a step back, so to speak, and really get to know someone." she admitted. She liked talking to Viktor. Heck, in the time they'd been sitting here she'd had a better conversation with him then, well, she really couldn't remember at the moment. But then again she wasn't that hard to remember either.

Megan sat back in her seat a little bit and crossed her legs comfortably thinking. "It seems rather dangerous. My cousins ski, and they're always getting banged up. Though, they just might not be any good at it." she said now that she thought about it clearly. "Speaking of patient instructors, how are the kids doing? Have they stopped trying to out do each other up in the air yet?" she asked.
