Alixandr Savage should be mental by now. (savagelaw) wrote in wished,
When she confirmed...when she said his name, he felt like his heart was going to fly right out of his chest. This was the girl that had captivated him heart and soul and then disappeared without a trace...she was the one that he’d wanted so much to see for so long. He had no anger in him for what had happened. He believed that she had gone fearing for her life, but he had always been confused about why she hadn’t said anything...why hadn’t she asked him to come with her? For a time, he had even worried that she had been snatched, but that was so painful to think about that he couldn’t bear it.
Still, time wore on, and when she never came home, he feared the worst. He nodded softly to reassure her that he was there, he was real...he didn’t really know what she was trying to say, but he was terrified that she was going to turn on her heel and run. Maybe she never had wanted him to know that she was still out there somewhere...maybe she wanted him to leave her alone. But the way that she reached out towards him was almost like she was going to touch him. When she stopped, he met her hand half-way, and grasped it tightly in his own as he rose to his feet, pulling her up to stand with him.
He didn’t dare let go of her hand...he didn’t want to. There was a fierce determination in his eyes, now that he knew she really wasn’t just a figment of his imagination. He couldn’t let her go...not without knowing. Slowly, with his free hand, he reached up to brush a little of her hair back...it was different and yet the same. The gesture was so painfully familiar that he didn’t dare think about what would happen later if she turned from him and walked out of his life all over again.
“I’ve always been right here...” he said softly. Of course, he was referring to England, to where they were together...not that particular spot. All of his unasked questions were right there in his eyes. He wanted to know what happened...he wanted to know why, “I never thought I’d see you again, Trish...I didn’t dare to hope for it.”
