Oriel had popped into Muggle London to spend a few hours with his mother. She was only a little over three months pregnant, and thus, she wasn't showing yet, but he still marvelled at the fact that his baby brother or sister was growing in there. Oriel had always wondered what it would be like to have a sibling - well, in March he would find out.
He had had lunch with his mother, and conversation, conversation done all in signs, for his mother had started learning as soon as Oriel was diagnosed as deaf, as a wee baby. He left with smiles on his face and a carton of his mother's oatmeal cookies tucked into his messanger bag. It didn't seem to matter how old he was - she always sent him home with food of some sort.
Heading back through the streets of London, Oriel decided that he would linger a bit. As much as he was a part of the Wizarding World that had become his home, he was Muggleborn, and that would always be his home as well. He popped into a cafe he liked for a spot of tea - a cafe his mother had sometimes taken him to when he was small. She'd have tea and he'd have a cookie to chew on and juice.
He joined the line and when he got to the front, ordered himself a cup of black tea, with just milk, which he took over to a table near the window, sinking into a comfortable plush chair. He set his teacup down and then opened his bag, drawing out a notebook and some pens and quills. He flipped the notebook open to a blank page so he could jot ideas as he drank.
