Rose was so glad she'd had Emma to help her shop. Looking at herself in the mirror before she left to meet Caine, she was sure she should trust Emma's taste more than her own. The simple black dress had small lines of blue thread that made it seem blue if you turned in the right light, and she though it went well with her skin tone. Her hair was up, she'd played with having it down, then up, then down again, but she'd decided for up and she could always take it down later. She'd even spent too much and picked up a new sapphire necklace - fake of course, but pretty - and earrings to match.

Her heart was beating so loudly from excitement and from nerves as she waited for him that she was sure as soon as he saw her he'd know - he'd hear it! Still, she couldn't help thinking that this was her first real date, and she was going to make sure she enjoyed herself.
