People may have argued that Theo was in no condition to be outside in public, even with Greg by his side. That Greg hadn't been known for making sensible decisions - or any decisions - before, and that his decision to take his mentally challenged Death Eater scum boyfriend out among good folk was also a mistake; 'may have argued' could stand for 'actually shouted that', especially in the nicer parts of town where one witch had no hesitation in doing just that.

Following it up by calling Greg a 'Death eater convict piece of scum' was probably not a good idea because it would seem that Theo had issues with anyone talking to his boyfriend that way. Luckily, his physical self wasn't as strong as his mind was passionate and he'd been carried away without doing any damage, especially as he was trying to use his magic (some curse that was an Unforgivable in Romania) but he didn't have a wand.

Knockturn was a little more forgiving of - or better at ignoring - the pair. They'd really only been out for fifteen minutes and Theo was already tired, the fight and the physical exertion of being outside wearing him out almost as much as the mental strain this was having on him did. He stopped walking in the middle of an alley to put his arms round Greg's neck and bury his head in against the broad chest like a tired child. "Back to my head, want to go, trees and..." he mumbled softly.

Niki was wandering. In a rather aimless manner that was not uncommon to him. He liked Knockturn Alley because it was cloaked in shadows, and full of creepy, crawly things and dark and weird things. He liked dark and he liked weird.

He had fingers pressed to the dirty window of a shop as he peered through with squinty eyes, into the interior, cluttered with things. Tracing over shapes that were a little bit hard to make out and imagining what they might be.

When he turned away, he stopped and a skewed little grin painted his lips because he saw the little mouse. "I see him," he whispered to the nothingness and then scuttled across the dirty alley until he was standing right in front of him.

"Hello, Mouse. Will you squeak?" he asked. It was only then that he seemed to realize that Theodore was not along. His eyes travelled upwards to the taller individual. "I didn't know. You knew. A giant."

Greg was not done being cross. He had picked Diagon Alley because it was far from the prying eyes of school, and he had mistakenly thought most of the lot would be on their way at the very least. Okay, so he hadn't thought it out too clearly, and the conversation had gotten heated, almost coming to blows. Theo had seemed to need to get out; now, Greg wished he could just whisk him away.

But the point had been to stock up on a few staples for the cottage, and it was now or never.

"Soon, love," he said as he put an arm around Theo's thin waste, "We still want that tea, don't we?"

And it was then that he realized they were being approached, by whom he wasn't certain. The boy (he guessed it was a boy) spoke to them it seemed, and Greg frowned slightly, "Oiye, shove off will ya? We've had enough for the day," he said, starting to turn Theo away from the boy who addressed Theo, and he could only guess that he was the giant.

	Theo flinched again as Nik blew the hair out of his eyes, not quite getting what was going on, but then made restless by the return to the topic. "He isn't!" Theo argued, wriggling away a little in what was a mix of panic and anger. "He's vulnerable, he is, they'll come and take him, needle claws and teeth and-" he cut himself off, struggling again. 	Niki let out a little squwak of surprise because suddenly Theodore was squirming and wriggling against him like an anxious puppy trying to get to the floor. "He is not. He's big. He's strong. Mouse. Mouse. Mouse," he repeated the nickname as he tried to keep a hold on the smaller, wiggly boy. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Theo said more insistent, more panicked, his energy draining from him and making him sink to the ground at Niki's feet, leaning back against the wall. 	"Noo," Niki cooed softly, and when Theodore slithered down to the ground, he crouched down with him, so he could curl his arms around him in a protective manner. He really did think of Theodore as some sort of small animal, like a mouse, and he liked mice. "He's okay," he said, lifting a hand to stroke through his hair again, petting him softly.
