If Mike had an inkling as to what Smith was really thinking about himself then he'd definitely have to introduce him to Pansy and her friends. He didn't know anyone that could bring down overinflated egos like they could. Of course that would mean subjecting Pansy to Smith and he wasn't entirely certain he'd want to do that even mad at her. He wasn't certain that Smith should be subjected on anyone ever.
"Cutting remarks are saved for those who are worth putting effort into putting down. You just don't make the cut." He barely made the cut to talk to according to where he ranked with Mike. He wondered if he simply walked away if that would be the end of it. Smith's next words stopped that idea quickly though and he rankled.
He turned to face Smith, his arms down stiffly by his side and he forced himself to keep his hands relaxed. Smith so wasn't worth starting a fight. "Evidently she doesn't agree with your assessment considering we've been married for two and a half years and dated on and off for quite a few before that." Though they told most people they had non-dates, thank you very much.
