With a practiced grace, Eddie moved away from the register to allow the other customers to get rung up and continue on with their days. He knew Delaney well; always did his grocery shopping here and always came in when he knew she was working. Maybe he liked her a bit; she was nice and pretty and listened to his stories, but he wasn't attached to her any more than just someone he enjoyed being around.
And as she spoke the words it began to trickle back to him, albeit very blurredly and very dimly, the couple times he thought he passed her in the halls and heard someone say her name in the quickest of passing conversations. Eddie very rarely forgot girls. "Ah... yes, how foolish of me to forget; I hope you can forgive me for this terrible transgression..." He gave a theatrical bow and grinned. "I am truly honored that you still remember me after so long."
