One moment, he'd found himself evaluating her reaction, not sure whether or not it should be considered positive, and the next, she was kissing him. He replied in kind, not really wanting to end such a simple and perfect moment so soon. It was a sweet kiss, he thought, chaste, but lingering...one that he was sorry to see end. Shannon was very quickly making a profound impression upon him, and he hoped that no matter what came of that day, that he would get to see her again.
When she pulled back from the kiss he grinned just a little bit, almost a smirk really, "Why'd you stop?" He asked simply, a note of happiness, of contentment, tinging his tone. But he didn't really give her time to answer, knowing that if she'd kissed him for as long as she had, then it wasn't likely that she wanted it to be over either. Kirley leaned back in and captured her lips, scooting a little closer and lifting a hand to gently brush a bit of her hair back, letting his fingers trail softly over her cheek and neck.
