Kirley McCormack-Duke ([info]kirleymcduke) wrote in [info]wished,
In the moment that it took for Shannon to answer the door, Kirley had time to wonder if he’d be in a heap of trouble for going on some sort of date with this friend of Leigh’s. He knew that he was a grown man, and that Shannon didn’t have to answer to Leigh...but he often felt as though he needed to run every detail of his life past his manager or else the entire world might collapse.

He was thankful that he’d put the charm on the ice cream, so that it wouldn’t be all melted. Especially when the pretty blond that answered the door seemed so enthusiastic about it. She had a smile that could stop hearts, he thought, as his own stuttered slightly. He just had to be cool...he had to breathe and smile and make words come out of his mouth. It was that simple...wasn’t it?

He managed to grin back genuinely, finding his voice, “Only the very best flavor in the very best brand that there is,” he told her, presenting the carton with a flourish, “I know we don’t know one another well, but since I brought all this on, I had to see it through.” He tried to gauge her reaction. Hopefully she didn’t already think he was an idiot...
