Shannon hadn't been quite sure why she'd responded to Kirley's offer of ice cream. This was a date, wasn't it? She was going on some sort of date with her cousin's boss. This could very easily go all sorts of wrong and yet Shannon had gone on with it, even going so far as to ask Rolf to leave.
Kirley was cute, there was no doubt about it, and the reality that a Weird Sister was coming to her (alright, Rolf's, but really!) house to bring her ice cream, hadn't quite set in yet. She knew that other girls, were they in her place, would likely be unable to calm down, screaming to all their friends what was about to happen, but Shannon was only worried about potentially getting Leigh in trouble.
She'd unnecessarily straightened the downstairs up, the only real mess in Rolf's house were the books both of them left lying around, and when the knock came at the door, she'd been straightening a picture in the foyer for three and a half minutes.
Waiting a moment, Shannon crossed to the door and tugged it open, smiling winningly at the man. "Ah, my ice cream!" She grinned, picking up the lingering scent of a cigarette, a connection being made between Leigh's odd question and the person standing before her.
