Who: Severus & Rodolphus
Where: Lestrange residence
When: Tonight
What: On the hunt for Polyjuice ingredients
Rating/Warnings: TBA/Possible torture and other unpleasantness.
After stewing for a day or so over Potter's owl (it had been so long since Severus had had to suffer that tone of his that he'd nearly forgotten there were advantages to being away from Hogwarts), he had decided that ignoring the message wasn't worth the trouble it would cause. The only reason anyone could want hair, of course, was for Polyjuice, and any plan that involved an impostor Lestrange could only be for the good. Severus wished very much that he knew what the plan was, and despaired of Potter pulling it off - whatever it happened to be - without his usual village of assistance. But if the boy managed not to get himself killed (mangled, perhaps?), then it hardly mattered what he did.
Luckily, there was a ready supply of Lestranges, and they could all be counted on for certain things. Severus wasn't familiar with the minutiae of their personal tastes, but the glassy-eyed young woman trudging along in his wake seemed likely enough to please at least one of them. He'd had his differences with all the members of that family, but now that he could afford to be magnanimous, some sort of gesture was in order. The girl had been an easy target, friendly and sadly unintelligent, but that made her no less of a decent peace offering, did it? The Imperious curse made her even easier prey than she might otherwise have been, but she also had her orders. There was no sense in passing up an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.
He announced himself and waited for admittance to Rodolphus and Bellatrix's current residence, soothing his conscience with the knowledge that at least she would die a useful death. And the image of Dumbledore that kept rising into his mind had no right, no right at all, to look so very disapproving.
