WHO: Verity & Fred
WHAT: chatting, snuggling, who the hell knows
WHERE: Fred's bed
WHEN: The morning after the Order meeting
WARNINGS/RATING/STATUS: None so far/PG13?/Ongoing

Verity yawned and rolled over in Fred's arms, surfacing slightly into consciousness. Her eyes fluttered open slightly and she furrowed her brows. She was in Fred's room, but didn't remember having gone to sleep there. She wriggled slightly and her frown deepened. And she was still wearing her jeans! What had happened last night?

Her movement woke her up more and sent a wave of nausea roiling through her body. She froze, pressing her lips together and clinging to Fred as it subsided and settled into a low level of stomachly unhappiness.

"Ugh," she murmured, dropping her head against Fred's chest, unwilling to move, lest her stomach rebel completely. Had they gotten drunk last night? That would explain the nausea, but her head didn't hurt and she certainly would've been wearing less clothes if that was the case.

Tickling her fingers down Fred's arm, she raised her head slightly and kissed him gently. "Fred," she whispered, settling her head down on the pillow again. "Fred, wake up."

"It does sound like the type of thing I'd do," Fred considered with a nod, but then he grinned at her and shook his head. "Not when I'm planning on snogging you though, and George stayed way from the pie too, so I think you're safe on that end." He reached up and pushed damn hair back from her forehead, and the touch was uncharacteristically gentle. "Did you feel bad last night?"

At Fred's soft touch, she couldn't help the small smile that curved her lips. "Not like this." Her stomach seemed to be behaving itself, settling down slightly and she released her hold on the mattress, moving carefully into a more comfortable position. "Just... tired, exhausted." She paused and frowned up at him, guiltily. "What happened last night?"

"For how long?" The first thing his mind jumped to was a hex, and that was enough to wake him up completely. Someone hexing Verity was just not on. "And just tired? Nothing else?" His concern meant he completely ignored the guilty questioning - Fred could have a one track mind sometimes.

She shrugged, lightly. "A week or so?" She couldn't quite remember when the exhaustion had set in, she'd just chalked it up to the stress of running the shop on her own and the war and all her suspicions about Trev. "More than tired. Completely exhausted. Like all I want to do is sleep." She frowned and cast her gaze away. "I've fallen asleep at work, in the back."

"At work?!" Fred's eyes went wide, "Who was minding the shop?" But a second later he realized that really shouldn't be his first concern, and he winced a little and tried to recover "Er, I mean, Madge, right? She's fine..." Which didn't sound believable at all. "You've been sick for a week? You need to go in to a Healer, Ver."

Verity winced at Fred's outburst, opening her mouth to assure him that Mags had been up front, but he'd already sped past it, barrelling on and talking about Healers. "A Healer?" She echoed. "I don't... I've just been tired, it's not like I'm sneezing or throwing up." She paused and looked shifty for a moment. She hadn't actually thrown up. She'd just come close to it. "And Mags is fine. I was only in the back." She added, hating the guilt she felt by admitting what had happened.

Fred rolled his eyes. "She's fine, I said." Because he felt like a right git about yelling about it, really. "And you do need to go to a Healer..." He brushed her hair back again, and then took one of her hands with his. "You could be hexed or something, slipped something, if it's gone on for a week you need to have someone check if something's wrong. You can go to Hestia."

Verity made to roll her eyes back at him, but his next words stopped her. "Hexed?" She echoed, the feel of his hand around hers making her smile slightly. "Who would hex me?" She hadn't done anything out of the ordinary lately. Trev didn't know she'd set Fred on him and even if he did, she couldn't see him hurting her.

"Well, you're pretty close to a known blood traitor?" Fred didn't like the idea of putting his friends or his girlfriend in danger, but he knew it was a possibility. "Or someone brassed at a WWW prank? I don't know. Anyone could be a bastard the way things are now, or you could just be sick, but you need to find out."

Attempting to push herself into a sitting position, Verity's stomach rebelled and she let out a pathetic squeak, slumping back to her original position at the edge of the bed. "Admit it," she managed to joke after a bit, a small, sickly smile on her face. "You just don't trust Mags."

"Well, she does look shifty," Fred said, mock-seriously, and then he squeezed her hand again before he cocked an eyebrow at her and slid back enough on the bed that he could move her easily so that her head was in his lap.

"You're going to talk to Hestia," he said, in a way that said she didn't have much of a choice.
