It was hard for Lev to picture what kind of game Clue would be. It probably wasn’t a deck of cards in such a big box, like the kind they had on the boat. At the moment it was out of reach for Lev to pull down, but maybe Abby could get it after they cleaned up. He liked the idea of finding something to eat too. It felt like the boat days.
Maybe they could push something heavy against one of the doors, too. Wherever they ended up playing.
“There was some food in the kitchen,” Lev mentioned, ignoring his own hunger. “The cans are probably okay.” Never mind that there were probably things in the fridge. Lev had so rarely seen anything actually edible in one of those. It was usually better to just grow or catch your own food if you wanted something fresh.
“Do you want to shower while I keep a look out? I guess it seems safe, but…” He shrugged. So did Santa Barbara. And being a Seraphite. Their invitation said it would be a better life here, but the bar was so low that could have meant anything. “I don’t mind.”
