“It’s weird,” Lev agreed, but he still slipped the bow back behind him in its sling. There wasn’t anything to fight. There was just… quiet, mostly. He didn’t really understand what this world expected of them, or why they had been invited here. If it really knew what they wanted, Lev would have Yara back and his mother would be alive. And Abby would have… everyone. Maybe this home was their consolation prize instead.
He still itched to figure it out and look around more. As long as Abby was with him, it didn’t seem like that bad of an idea.
He moved over to the closet to take a closer look, pushing through the rack of shirts. There wasn’t anything remotely Seraphite about the selection, which wasn’t disappointing exactly, but he did wonder if that was by design or because whoever ruled this place didn’t know as much about him as they wanted Lev to believe.
“They knew some things, I guess.” He pulled his hand away from the material of a T-shirt. “If they wanted to hurt us, wouldn’t they have done it by now?”
Maybe it was one big mind game, but he hoped they were done with fighting for now. And running. It would be nice to just exist and see if they could find another lead for any Fireflies here.
Above the racks of clothes were some shelves higher up, each with a few boxes piles on top of each other. He didn’t recognize any of the labels, although the print did look fairly bright and happy. “What’s Clue?” He asked, staring at one of the boxes. Just under it was a more rectangular container labeled Monopoly, and beneath that was something with big multi-colored dots. “Maybe we need to read what’s in there.”
