Since coming here, this place was full of constant surprises. It wasn't just in the weird and out there things that happened either. In general, it was pretty wild. There were so many people here from back home and it seemed like they were from all over their time in high school. Which wasn't that far off for Semi, but... far enough? Not so far off he didn't fit in with them anymore either, which was nice. Overall, he had no regrets in coming here, it was probably the best thing that he could have done. He had a job that he loved, his friends were around, they started a band, and he met Mafuyu. Life here was good for him, he had zero complaints.
When the rain started, Semi started to wonder if it was going to end up causing a flood somewhere... but then the jellyfish started to appear once the rain died down. At first it was just a few... and now the whole sky was full of them in all different colors. Where did they come from even? Where were they going? It was just another round of the odd and unexpected, but it was also beautiful. Seeing jellyfish floating in the sky was captivating, like something straight out of a movie. That was Winterdale for you. The oddness came and went in waves and you could never quite know what to expect from day to day.
He'd invited Mafuyu out to the beach to go watch them considerong no one really knew how long they would be floating around. Bringing his guitar along in case he wanted to play while they were there, Semi laid out a blanket he'd had tucked under his arm just for this purpose. More comfortable than being right on the sand, even if Kedama would inevitably kick sand up on it anyway. They found a quiet part of the beach, though they weren't the only ones out taking in the view of the sky. It was comfortable laying back on the sand with one hand in Mafuyu's, watching them drift by as if the ocean was suddenly up in the sky. You could almost expect to see some fish swim between them at any moment. The ball of fluff nearby that was Kedama ran back and forth every once in awhile and Semi would reach out to pet him before he bounded off again. Sooner or later, he'd tire out and come flop over onto the blanket too.
"I wonder... how they stay up there..." He mused absently as they drifted by overhead, looking over at Mafuyu beside him with a smile. "Its never boring here, not even for a second," he laugued with a sigh, shifting over onto his stomach instead with his chin propped in his palm while he talked to Mafuyu. "You wanna grab something to eat on the walk back?" There was no real plan for after this, but that didn't mean they couldn't make one.
