This new place was terribly exciting! So different from home. Pike was sure the adjustments would take time until they could find a way back to Exandria. With any luck, also with their dear friend, Vax. It was also a troublesome thing. Pike… seemed to be missing a great deal of her memories and neither of them were really sure why. Perhaps, it seemed through a bit of asking around, it had to do with the mysterious magic which surrounded this land. It often caused strange sorts of occurrences, as it seemed. Pike could feel it, in the earth, in the trees of the forest, but that too was strange in comparison.
It made Pike frown a touch to herself where she knelt in the forest, complete in her armor though she had little need of it in the current moment. Odd as it may seem, being in it made her feel relaxed and more at home. Clutching her holy symbol, Pike meditated surrounded by the offerings of nature. The sound of the stream and the rush of the wind. The feeling of the earth and the sun. There was no temple to Sarenrae, nor any of the gods she had come to know in Orrinshire. Pike's connection to her felt weaker and further away than ever, but still she would pray dutifully. She wondered… if she could just make a strong enough one… if Sarenrae's favor may bless them with either guidance or to restore her memories.
Pike had since repaired her relationship with Sarenrae in the wake of damaging her symbol through her actions in Kraghammer. Did she… do something she couldn't recall to fall back out from her favor? She hoped not… and that this was, in fact, the work of some other strange force at hand they may find a solution to.
Opening her eyes, Pike let out a sigh. Another failure. Maybe… her magic was just not in tune with this place… but she was going to keep praying. For her memories. For guidance. For the sake of Scanlan, who seemed so forlorn she couldn't remember when she desperately wanted to. Until she could, she was putting absolute faith in Scanlan to be truthful with her. This was… only slightly difficult, at times. Very slightly! She trusted him! She did. With most everything. Though this was exactly why she desperately needed her memories back intact. So she would know without a doubt from her own point of view how she felt.
Patience was key. Rushing only leads to mistakes. She tried to remind herself of any and all small bits of virtue that may help her here. In time, everything was always clear. Standing up with a familiar clinking, Pike was reminded of Vax calling her 'Clanky' and that gave her the will to put on a smile. She was certain they would see their friend again soon enough and with any great fortune they gathered on their many adventures, their other friends as well. Pike stepped carefully along the stream, careful not to slip as it wasn't particularly comfortable getting wet under plate armor. Once she was back, she would talk to Scanlan about building a small shrine to Sarenrae near their for now home. She had hopes that if she could put in that effort, her connection would be stronger and they may be able to ask for some Divine Intervention. Anything was worth a try and so they would try anything.
