Going to the festival with Kuroo and Kenma had really been the best choice. As much as Kenma tried to pretend he wasn't having the time of his life, Bokuto felt he knew better. He'd even done his best to give them some moments alone while he ate or something else. In some ways, it had been great. It had definitely helped him get his mind off of everything. Yet, by the end of the evening, Akaashi was about the only thing on his mind. Maybe it was good that the day had worn him out, being away from most of his team and left to hype only himself for the most part. When he'd gotten home, he'd all but went straight to bed. No, it was definitely good, because he still didn't know how to deal with the Akaashi situation.
His first thought upon waking was simple confusion. He was wearing his uniform, curled up in a mostly unfamiliar bed when he didn't remember going home with anyone after anything, but... He squinted, looking around the room as the subtle familiarity settled in his brain. He was back. That meant...
"AHGASHI!"
He all but threw off the covers and ran around the dorm, looking but not finding, and it felt like he nearly deflated right then and there. He wasn't there, but his stuff was, so that meant...he was just temporarily gone. Bokuto could handle that. So, to distract himself for the moment, he went about his normal routine, save for showering and eating anything other than a piece of fruit. It was too risky to do so when he needed to look at the door every five seconds or so to make sure Akaashi wasn't home yet.
He waited, and the second there was a sound at the door he was moving, grin as wide as he could manage as he shoved his hands under Akaashi's arms, wrapping and pulling him in tight against his chest as he lifted him off the ground. "Akashi." He said, softly, yet full of affection as he gave the other a squeeze, showing no real signs of letting him go even as he gently let him back down. He turned his cheek into Akaashi's hair and took a deep breath. "I'm glad you're here. I'm glad you're home." He nodded a little before turning his head to press his nose to Akaashi's neck as he gave him another squeeze. "I missed you."
