For a couple of those still seconds, Kenma began to wonder if he'd maybe said something a bit too much. When Kuroo took a turn for looking embarrassed, he was pretty sure he had. At least, he knew him well enough to know the flustered look wasn't from anger or being upset with him really. It wasn't a stretch to think that it was because of the cute comment. They weren't kids. Kenma didn't love being called cute in his streams, but he tried to embrace it to an extent just because people seemed to like it. Kuroo didn't have much motive for that.
He didn't mean it insulting, and Kuroo seemed to know that, at least.
A bit surprised when his hand was taken and Kuroo was pulling him, Kenma just followed along quietly, eyes fixed on those ears still. The tail was a bit distracting, too, and he almost opened his mouth to ask where they were going when Kuroo sat himself down and seemed to wait for a second before pushing closer.
"Who am I gonna tell?" Kenma waited a moment before lifting his hands, starting his fingers pushing through Kuroo's hair for a moment. It was soft, something he expected, because it wasn't actually styled, it just sort of naturally went crazy in it's own endearing sort of way. "I don't know." He admitted, because what did you do when you suddenly had ears and a tail you didn't before? Kenma didn't know.
As his fingers found their way to the ears in question, his fingers were careful, touching over the velvety fur before sliding down to rub at the base, warm, real, attached. It was all so weird, yet there was something oddly familiar about the whole situation. It made him think of when they were younger, Kuroo more reserved, sitting quietly in his room and a bit unsure of how to really be Kenma's friend as much as Kenma hadn't known what to do with him either. They were so different, yet, they'd made it work somehow. Well, they'd make this work somehow.
"Maybe it's temporary?" He offered, moving his hands to genuinely start petting Kuroo now. He'd heard classmates talking about 'funny' things that happened with the magic around, either unexplained or because of something someone did. "It could be worse." He thought about it. "You could be a full cat."
