Something? More like everything. After the whole mistletoe situation where Prompto had kissed Iggy-- rescued Iggy!-- a whole series of questionable feelings had started to creep up. It wasn’t just that Prompto had suddenly discovered that Ignis was a handsome guy-- he’d known that about all his friends from the very beginning. He'd just noticed a familiar loneliness had snuck its way back into his heart afterward. Iggy had Noct had each other now, and Prompto really was happy for both of them. He had always wanted someone special too. Someone to kiss and not feel guilty about afterwards.
He did want to tell Gladio somehow, but he knew there was a possibility he’d come off as a crazy person for figuring this out after kissing Iggy. He was prepared for the merciless teasing, though. He might as well try to explain it in the hope he’d be able to figure himself out along the way. What did he really want? Why now?
“Sooo, it’s almost Valentine’s day,” Prompto started, pulling one leg up on the couch as he turned to face Gladio. “I don’t have a date and it’s almost Valentine’s day. And Noct and Iggy are cute, like gross cute, and like— I want to have that, too, you know?”
That probably got most of the point across, although he was losing steam rather fast the more he thought about how stupid this probably sounded to someone like Gladio who probably never spent Valentine’s day alone. “I guess I just wondered… you know.” Now this was just stalling. “How do you do it? Like meet someone and poof, kissing! Relationship goals! My hands get sweaty just thinking about it.”
