The people who thought Asahi looked scary or threatening never heard him open his mouth. There wasn't much to what he claimed to be a wild appearance when everything else about him was so soft and gentle. He could summon something more intense, but that was more likely to happen during volleyball than for him to be the guy who would snap at you for running into him. Asahi was the exact opposite and would probably apologize even if it wasn't his fault.
Did it sound so serious? Maybe Asahi meant it that way despite this being new. In a way, it wasn't. Since they started playing together, there was something more to the bond between Asahi and Noya; when they fought it was about more than a volleyball game and the mistakes Asahi made on the court. It touched through to something much more personal than that the two of them nearly didn't make a recovery from.
Noya was like a piece of the sun despite his name. Asahi felt Noya was more like morning, full of energy and warmth. He had to laugh when Noya shook him, still bright red, but smiling the biggest smile. "I mean it. No take backs."
There was a static in the air that was thrilling, better than that moment before a game where it felt like anything was possible or landing a nice spike. Asahi didn't know what to expect, but felt ready for anything that came next. Asahi was content to just to have Noya close with something entirely new open to them beyond their move.
Laughing softly some more, he just couldn't take his eyes off Noya. He didn't know how he was so lucky to be here and wondered if he was just too blind to see it before, though it didn't matter now. "Only if you're prepared to get some of your own," if Asahi played off anyone well, it was Noya, both on and off the court. "I wouldn't expect much else from you." Noya had a tendency to pick fights along with Tanaka as it was for anything from getting a weird look from some guys to the usual trash talk that went on and while it might embarrass Asahi for all the best reasons, we wouldn't discourage it. He sort of liked Noya staking his claim like that, was that terrible? "And you're my Libero," not that Asahi would be as... loud about it as Noya, at least not in words.
Grasping Noya's hands, Asahi pulled Noya in closer so he could put his arms around him, not that it took much with Noya already so close. Asahi didn't even mind having to lean some so he could, it felt like Noya belonged there. "You still want to take that walk?"
