Eiji liked it here at Oikawa’s side, taking his arm like they were either a very old couple or only Oikawa really knew where they were going. It was just nice, and he was happy to move closer too after they’d left the apartment. There was a safety here Eiji didn’t often feel when he stepped outside. It was like being home when Oikawa was with him – back in Eiji’s favorite comfortable spots.
“You should move in,” Eiji agreed very matter-of-factly, though he was bright-eyed to hear Oikawa say it too. “Maybe you already have -- I don’t know how much stuff it takes to move in.” He tried to picture Oikawa’s dorm… was it half empty now? Or did moving in just mean Oikawa brought only his favorite things to their shared apartment? “You should have everything you love in one place.”
But was Eiji one of those things now? I love being with you, Oikawa had said. Eiji wouldn’t forget hearing that anytime soon.
They had stepped outside onto the snow-covered ground, although Eiji didn’t let go of the other boy immediately. The comment had made him think about what Eiji loved, too. Being with Oikawa was certainly one of those things, but Oikawa himself was so easy to love. It was just usually not good to say these things out loud at the wrong time; many heroines in shoujo manga had that problem. It would be an easy thing to avoid if he just could figure out when there was a right time.
“Oikawa-sensei, do you only like to be called by your last name?” he asked, boots crunching in the first few steps of snow. “It took a long time before the other mangaka wanted to use first names with me, so I understand if you do.”
