While Eiji had come to Winterdale looking for a manga-worthy adventure, he hadn’t seen much to write home about until tonight. Halloween was everything he had ever hoped for-- a mysterious event! Newfound super powers! But when he had turned to Oikawa to celebrate (even if the other was a demon king), he stopped short. Oikawa hadn’t recognized him as Eiji – only Crow. And he was saying a lot of things Eiji couldn’t quite place. Things that had never happened, or about people Eiji didn’t know.
Transforming into his character was nowhere as all encompassing for Eiji as it had been for others at the party. Perhaps because Crow was already such a big part of him, he felt relatively himself as the night went on. Although he did have a new purpose concerning his friend-turned-demon: Watch out for Oikawa. It would be so easy for the other to get swept up amongst the other creatures at the party who were looking for chaos.
Somehow they had made it home without much fuss, and Eiji was glad that Oikawa hadn't wanted to go out and command a demon army tonight. It would have made sense to leave his shoes on for that.
“We can look for them tomorrow,” Eiji suggested, coming to kneel down in front of the bed. He pulled the boot back to help ease it off, though it took some wiggling along the way. “Do you need the others to be at full strength?” The second boot slid off easier, but Eiji stayed on the floor, still making up his mind on what he would need to do for the other boy. He may have been Crow now, but Oikawa wasn’t a bad guy... this was his friend.
“You can sleep here, Demon-san,” He offered, head cocked in thought. “This is a safe space for all types.” Including those with less moral alliances. Eiji had read enough manga to feel comfortable dealing with this new persona. Oikawa was still himself underneath it all. Even being a demon, it felt likely Eiji could convince the other to stay with milk bread. "We're still friends, too. I hope you remember soon."
