Why Eiji didn’t want to go out with her-- he considered it for a moment. It wasn’t because she wasn’t nice-looking... but that wasn’t really something he needed either. He looked back up at the sky, trying to find the birds that had passed earlier. “I’m not really interested in seeking out something romantic, but if it happened without intent, that could be nice.” Oikawa really did think ahead if he took into account a bad breakup and the loss of the bakery. Eiji would never have considered it.
As for the prince comment, that answer made Eiji smile softly. Compliments about his manga were usually expected, but never about his personality. Oikawa had given it so genuinely, too. “Thank you,” he said, finally putting away the bun he had been given. “For the Choco Bun, too.”
Today was turning out to be a very good day, and even though Eiji had hoped it would be, actually being in the moment exceeded his expectations. Oikawa had taught him volleyball, and shared his favorite bakery, and wanted to keep spending time together for dinner too. Even the ache in his arms was a welcome feeling. The proof he had left his room and ventured into the world. He could take those experiences back with him for Crow's next chapters.
“I think someone would be lucky to be with you, too,” he said, equally sincere. “I’m happy to be here. I like learning more about you.” Which reminded him, he did want to ask about watching-- “Can I draw you playing next time? You do cool poses.” He pulled his hands up, creating a little square as he framed Oikawa beside him. “Super action shots.”
