Alexander and Ian (Hogwarts HP-Marauder Era)
Who: Professor Alexander Gissing and Professor Ian Todd
When: Quiet Saturday night during Christmas break.
Where: Teacher's lounge
What: Oblivious Alexander meets Ian
Rating: TBD - but don't be surprised if it ends up being NC17... this depends on the level of obliviousness of Alexander.
Alexander liked the quiet of Christmas break, he had spent most of it in the library and in his office, but some times he got out the book he was reading at that moment and went to the teacher's lounge. When he did that he usually had some polite conversations with the others who were there before making himself comfortable in one of the big leather chairs. Today had not been different, after greeting his fellow professors and talking a little with Minerva he had sat down in the chair he usually picked and opened his book.
Once he was reading he was oblivious to the world around him, sometimes he nodded or tapped on a sentence on the page that had jumped out at him. Even though he liked the quiet too, he loved reading in the teacher's lounge, the sounds around him made him feel at home.
Ian was spending Christmas at Hogwarts - his first Christmas since becoming a teacher in the very school which he had attended as a boy. Normally he spent the holidays with his parents, but this year they had gotten an opportunity to travel abroad with some friends and he had encouraged them to take it. And it wasn't like he had a lover, either - not for many years. So why not stay where he was comfortable?
Ian had to admit to himself that the absence of students - or most of the students - made for a more peaceful situation then normally. And there were a few teachers left. All in all, it was a rather serene situation. He entered the teacher's lounge, a volume of Hardy in his hands, smiling at the other teachers, his attention drawn to the quiet Runes teacher, with his nose buried in a book. How handsome he was. And how sexy. Too bad he wasn't gay. At least, Ian never got any indication that he was.
And in this day and age, with homophobia running rampant, it wasn't safe to assume anything. Clucking to himself, he took a seat nearby and surreptitiously watched Alexander from the corner of one eye.
It took Alexander a little bit to even realize that Ian had entered the teachers lounge and had taken a seat near him; he never even noticed that the other man had been looking at him. When he noticed his fellow professor he smiled politely, “Oh… hello…” He was a typical absentminded professor; as soon as he got engrossed in his Runes he didn’t notice much else.
To be honest he was a bit clueless when it came to interaction with people, he was polite and he had feelings of course but when it came to noticing things like surreptitious glances he was just oblivious. He had noticed that Ian was handsome though, he had noticed that when the younger Defence against the Dark Arts professor first arrived, he wasn’t blind!
“How are you today?” He tried a little clumsy attempt at small talk. Brilliant professor but a simple thing like small talk had him stumped at times.
