[WB] 20 December -- Lance and Hana Coffee Date
Who: Lance and Hana
Where: Some coffee shop in the city
When: 20 December -- late afternoon
What: Lance gave a favor when the Devils were winning
Rating: Low
Status: Incomplete
Why was Lance here again? Well, not even the fact that he had an argument with his sister could damper the fact the Devils killed a few nights early. He would have said yes if Alec asked him out. Well, never mind that because Alec did hit at that and Lance said he only liked girls. But maybe if the Devils were up by 8, Lance would have considered it. Then probably have second thoughts. It wasn't like he had second thoughts about this date with Hana -- it was only coffee -- but now, he really didn't feel like going on a date. A date always required a bit more extra work. You had to be attentive and charming and respond appropriately to flirting. Now, all he thought about was Odie. And of course, the missing mutants. Why was he even out here now when all that happened? Sure, he wanted to believe he could fight people off, anyone who wanted to kidnap him but Lance knew all it took was a quick jerk of his arm and his delicate bones would break. He would be easy to take after that.
Even though those things sat heavy on him, he sure did feel nervous about the fact that this was a date. Hana was nothing like Rosalyn which was good. She was high energy though, and he preferred Rosalyn's level generally. But no, it is probably best to really go for the opposite direction. Besides, realistically, Hana is sporty. He's sporty. It is a match. Whatever. It is just coffee. He should just see how it goes.
And now they sat at a coffee shop. Lance had a cup of hot cocoa and a giant cookie. He had paid for Hana's meal if she got anything. His father was big into that stuff. Always pushing for him to be a gentleman on these dates. He kept his body language closed, his arms crossed. He glanced across the table at his date.
"So any plans for Christmas?" he asked awkwardly.
