Christmas was coming and Lance had quite an issue on his hands. Should he even consider buying a gift for his sister, Odette? And if he decided he should, what should he get her? Was giving a gift to a Syndicate member against the rules of Willowbrook? Lance felt conflicted. Even after the incredibly awkward but kind of pleasant run in with Odie, part of Lance felt absolutely furious with her. He just could not get over the fact that she left and joined those monsters in Seagram Tower. Sure, she said she still loved him and blah blah blah sentimental stuff inserted here, but it still felt like an insult that he could not shake.
He had to make his decision soon because that weekend, he planned to spend the day Christmas shopping -- only one day, that is all he would give himself to the craziness of the holiday. So what did Lance do when he needed to think? Lift weights of course. Of course, shooting a ball with a hockey stick into a goal would have also sufficed. And he also pondered going ice skating. That is what he planned to do soon. Maybe he couldn't play the highly awesome and violent sport of hockey, but sucking his wings into his back and putting on some skates for a once around the rink there would be no harm in it. Surely someone may say something about it but Lance didn't care. He was one with the ice and always had been. It was an old friend.
But now, Lance couldn't go ice skating. It was snowing out which made the ice more slippery than usual and it isn't cold enough. He had to be safe. After all, he did break easy. He hated to acknowledge the fact that he indeed was very fragile but it was a reality he had to deal with for six years.
The winged man found his way to the gym where he wore a muscle t-shirt and a pair of loose fitting Adidas blue shorts. His black wings lay folded against his back although at times they would stretch when he stretched his arms, not to their full length because they probably could hit someone. He decided to start on free weights and move on from there. Another thing he hated about his body was he could never seem to grow big in terms of muscle mass. His body wasn't built for it but he still had a descent amount of strength. As he began to do reps, he thought about Odie and what he could give her.
But his thoughts were suddenly interrupted as his eyes fell on a sight that greatly offended him. No. No, that's not right at all. Oh man, that kid is going to hurt himself! The Humanity! Lance dropped the weight to the ground and walked up with a purpose to said person and held his arms out, palms to the sky -- typical Jersey fashion, "What are you doing?!"
